Welcome to the inaugural Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival! A four-day celebration of incredible filmmaking and celebration of Indigenous culture.
The Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival strives to foster the creativity of Indigenous cinema and expression while welcoming audiences to learn, listen, and celebrate indigenous cultures together.
Here is the lineup of short films for the 5:30 PM Block on Sunday, October 11th:
“Ice, Stone, Spirit: Uncovering the Stories of Yellowstone’s First People”: For over 11,000 years, Native people lived in, traveled through, and carefully stewarded the land we now call Yellowstone National Park in “Ice, Stone, Spirit: Uncovering the Stories of Yellowstone’s First People.”
“Seeds We Bury”: “Seeds We Bury” tells the story of the Ati Tribe of the Philippines and the Shinnecock Nation of the United States, two indigenous island communities separated by oceans, yet united in the preservation of land, people, and culture.
“The Boom”: An Indigenous man investigates a mysterious sound echoing through the city that reverberates through space and time in “The Boom.”
“Maji-Manidoowaadizi”: In “Maji-Manidoowaadizi,” Clint begins experiencing disturbing recurring nightmares that suggest something far darker than a simple disappearance after his cousin Jack goes missing.
