As her imagination brings to life a magical rabbit hole, she follows it down in hopes of reuniting with her father on the other side. Will Nina come to terms with the truth of her past and finally embrace the adventure of a new home?

It’s the summer before Phoebe Lee leaves home. The Chinese-American Lee family, who has lived in the Mississippi Delta for generations, is preparing for the day by taking inventory at their grocery store. The two Lee siblings — Phoebe and Raymond — work in tandem like they have all of their lives. Except this summer Phoebe is leaving home for a college far from Mississippi, and in doing so is saying goodbye to her older brother and an entire way of life.

Chidera

Inspired by a true story, Chidera (igbo meaning: “what God has destined) is an “ezenwa” meaning she was born with “dada” hair signifying she is a direct descendant of the mighty goddess of Atai – a powerful linage of women of the Ani tribe in Africa. From birth she was bound to a lifelong oath to a higher calling, but as the traditional ceremony looms she struggles to choose between her destiny and the freedom she craves.
