The war began on September 1, 1939, when Poland was attacked by Germany, marking the start of World War II. The occupation of Poland lasted until May 8, 1945.

The screening will be preceded by introductory remarks by Phil Harling, Director, Center for the Humanities; Beata Paszyc, Executive Director, The American Institute of Polish Culture; and Honorary Vice Consul of the Republic of Poland.
