FATIH AKIN'S LOVE, DEATH, AND THE DEVIL TRILOGY

The Cosford Cinema is ecstatic to present celebrated filmmaker Fatih Akin's cinematic trilogy: LOVE, DEATH and THE DEVIL. In tandem with the Miami Premiere of Akin's latest film THE CUT, a gripping, modern epic about the Armenian genocide, the Cosford Classics series will present Akin's classic films HEAD ON (2004) and THE EDGE OF HEAVEN (2007) on 35mm film. It has taken over a decade for Akin to complete his trilogy and now it can be seen in completion at the Cosford.

OCTOBER SNEAK PEEKS

With the Cinematic Arts Commission at the University of Miami, the Cosford presents special sneak peek presentations of three highly anticipated films this month: HE NAMED ME MALALA - Tuesday October 6 at 9PM, STEVE JOBS - Tuesday October 13 at 9PM, and SUFFRAGETTE - Thursday October 29 at 7PM.

There are limited tickets available to Non-UM Students. Make sure to RSVP.

PATRICK JEAN: FROM A VIMEO VIRAL SENSATION TO HOLLYWOOD FILMMAKER - A RETROSPECTIVE

Come and meet Patrick Jean, the French filmmaker who skyrocketed from a Vimeo viral sensation to a big studio director. In collaboration with the French Consulate in Miami and the Bill Cosford Cinema, we are presenting a retrospective of Patrick's short format projects - from never seen 3D films to some of his more commercial works. Not to be missed, this Q&A session with Patrick Jean is a tell all - from the bidding war for the rights of Pixels to his newest feature film to be shot in L.A.

THE DIVINE DENEUVE - COSFORD CLASSICS

Celebrate screen icon Catherine Deneuve with three of her classic films shown on 35mm. This summer the Norton Herrick Center presents Cosford Classics with a series THE DIVINE DENEUVE looking at three spectacular films starring Catherine Denevue. In addition, the Cosford will be playing contemporary Catherine Deneuve films, such as IN THE NAME OF MY DAUGHTER. Please join us for these exclusive screenings presented on 35mm as Cosford Classics. Tickets for the Divine Deneuve screenings are only $5.

ORSON WELLES'S THE STRANGER

The Norton Herrick Center for Motion Picture Studies and Nuray Pictures are proud to present a new 2k restoration of Orson Welles’s THE STRANGER to commemorate the maverick’s centennial birthday. THE STRANGER is an intriguing noir-thriller with stunning images in which An investigator from the War Crimes Commission (Edward G. Robinson) travels to Connecticut to find an infamous Nazi, who may be hiding out in a small town in the guise of a distinguished professor (Orson Welles). Also co-starring Loretta Young. TIME MAGAZINE called it “a cunning conspiracy to scare the daylights out of you.
